Spring/summer time, France 2017

2017 I have been setting up my new studio in France and making lots of new paintings. I’ve been finding my feet amongst a rural community, with its unchanged cultural identity, miles from London, where everything is strange to me, and this has informed my works to date. I’ve been drawn to the empty, open spaces where natural order wrestles with human interventions – neither side winning nor losing – a battle played out daily in my garden, in my journeys, and along the fields, lanes,  around me.
